An ICE agent shot and wounded a man while serving an arrest warrant
A man was shot and wounded by a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agent in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood Monday morning. The ICE agent was serving an arrest warrant at a home when the father of the man named in the warrant allegedly pointed a gun at agents. One of the agents fired at the father and injured him, according to a statement from ICE. Family members identified the wounded man as Felix Torres; his daughter Carmen Torres denied allegations that he was armed. “It’s a lie when they say he was holding a gun. He doesn’t even own a gun,” she told DNAinfo Chicago. “They shot my dad. They shot him, and I don’t know why.” [Tribune] [DNAinfo Chicago] A shooting investigation shut down the inbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway near Kedzie Avenue Monday afternoon. A witness spotted the occupants of two vehicles on I-290 shooting at each other; one shell casing was subsequently found, according to Illinois State Police. Authorities weren’t aware of any injuries or victims as of Monday afternoon. [NBC Chicago]
